Is Papa John's a "one-ball juggler"?

According to an Associated Press article today, the pizza chain Pappa John's "won't follow rivals and add pasta." Apparently pizza chains are getting hit harder by the recession than are other types of fast food, and so they are looking for ways to expand their businesses.

Later in the same article, the CEO of Domino's, David Brandon, explains that they expanded their menu to include pasta and other things becaue they didn't want to be a 'one-ball juggler.'" And who does, really....

On television, Pizza Hut advertises their new line of Tuscani Pastas as "restaurant quality." But isn't Pizza Hut a restaurant? (Though that publicity photo above looks more like my elementary school lunch line in the 1970s than the "taste of Italy" touted by Pizza Hut.)
